For as long as anyone can remember, baseball cards have been one of the most popular and prized collecting hobbies. Inspired by the familiar baseball card format with sports collectibles, in 2004, a new art form was born on eBay. A fifth generation Montanan, Heaney comes from a pioneer background with a strong mining influence. In the course of my art career, two things have become increasingly apparent. The first, is that there are a lot of people who really appreciate art and would like to invest in an original painting or drawing, but their resources are limited. The second, is that in order for me to paint and make a living at my profession, I must spend a great deal of my time promoting my art by attending art shows, etc. The time spent promoting and traveling takes me away from actually producing art.
