I am producing paintings of My Montana Roots working in watercolor, oil painting and acrylic painting.
In the course of my 40 year career as an artist I have traveled Montana and the west capturing ghost towns in my artwork. My goal will be to preserve and share my experiences. I have been drawing ever since I can remember. I have portrayed the mystery of the Montana and the West's ghost towns. Coming from a pioneer background with a strong mining influence, my paintings and drawings capture the memories of my Montana upbringing.
I became very interested in ghost towns at an early age and from, then on my art has evolved in capturing a part of our history that is fading. Much of the West's history is stored in its ghost towns. Strolling through empty streets past ruined buildings and deserted mining structures one easily realizes how hard those pioneer families had to work to survive. They built those towns their mines with pick and shovels. They built the...

ACEO's by Kevin Heaney
eBay's home-grown art movement
For as long as anyone can remember, baseball cards have been one of the most popular and prized collecting hobbies. Everyone is familiar with the compact yet elegant format of the baseball card—in an area only 2.5" x 3.5", these cards aesthetically capture the grace and energy of athletes in their element.
Inspired by the familiar baseball card format with sports collectibles, in 2004, a new art form was born on eBay. A group of innovative artists created a variation of the traditional baseball card format called the Art Cards Editions and Original, or ACEOs for short. Now six years later, ACEOs are flourishing. (on any given day at least 100,000 ACEO originals are sold somewhere on the internet) More and more people are collecting ACEOs; art supply stores are beginning to stock specialized materials that help artists create...

In the course of my art career, two things have become increasingly apparent. The first, is that there are a lot of people who really appreciate art and would like to invest in an original painting or drawing, but their resources are limited. The second, is that in order for me to paint and make a living at my profession, I must spend a great deal of my time promoting my art by attending art shows, etc. The time spent promoting and traveling takes me away from actually producing art. I have wondered for quite some time how I could reconcile these two problems. I have an idea which might be a partial solution. The idea follows and I can't really describe it except to say that it is a form of credit or lay-a-away plan or perhaps like buying stock and investing in a company and received a dividend. In other words you would be investing in me as an artist for one year.
I thought that perhaps if you really want a drawing or a painting, you would be willing to pay a certain amount of...
